UNDP Iran offers qualified individuals, preferably with an academic interest in the mandate and objectives of the organization, the opportunity to contribute to the office’s human resource capacity through its volunteer programme. Volunteers will be utilized according to their present qualifications and the current needs of the organization. In return the programme aims to provide volunteers with work experience from an international organization as well as insight into the UN system.

Please note that the selection of candidates will be based on a competitive process and that assignments under the UNDP Iran Volunteer Programme are not designed to lead to employment within the organization and represents no obligation whatsoever for UNDP.

UN Volunteer Programme

If you are interested in global volunteer opportunities, please look at United Nations Volunteer (UNV) programme. UNV is the focal point for volunteerism in the United Nations. UNV was created by the UN General Assembly in 1971 at the request of UN Member Countries and is administered by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). While UNV is based in Bonn, Germany, it is represented worldwide through the offices of UNDP.

UNV advocates for the benefits of civic engagement and integrates volunteerism into development planning. UNV pursues distinctive contributions to human development through facilitating better access to opportunities and services, improved delivery of services, encouraging greater inclusion and participation in development and mobilizing communities. One way in which UNV works to reach these objectives is through engaging UNV volunteers to work on development projects. Every year, UNV mobilizes more than 7,500 volunteers from 160 different nations across the world, of which more than 70% represent developing countries.
